Christmas has become a global festival, regardless of religion or location. From glittering cities to a few snowy escapes or even tropical beaches, here are some recommended places to spend Christmas Eve to enjoys the World’s most magical Christmas experience.

Quebec City, Canada

Every year in December, Old Québec is transformed into a real Christmas village, with its cobblestone lanes covered with beautiful fluffy white snow, magical illuminations and stunning Christmas trees. Markets and concerts keep the streets buzzing, whilst mulled wine keeps you warm in this cold and wonderful winter.

Edinburgh, Scotland

Edinburgh, Scotland is a perfect Christmas destination. From a gloomy medieval Scottish capital, Edinburgh transforms into a giant cheerful and lively Christmas Market. Yes, almost the entire city centre is occupied by the Christmas market and this is amazing. Edinburgh Christmas market has a couple of attractions, e.g. a huge Ferris wheel, an ice-skating rink and many others, especially for small children. Even though that it doesn’t usually snow in Edinburgh, the atmosphere is still great!

New York, USA

New York during Christmas is cold, windy, and insanely crowded – there’s no other place I’d rather be. You can ice skate at Wollman rink in Central Park like the characters of Serendipity, with the skyline of NYC in front of you. The top of Empire State building is lit up with red and green lights during November and December. You can even talk to the giant Christmas tree in front of Rockefeller Center. And when you get cold, stop by Serendipity 3 for their famous frozen hot chocolate, the most appropriate drink during Christmas season or have dinner at one of the many NYC restaurants.

Zurich, Switzerland

In this compact Alpine city, a display of 12,000 crystal lights marks the season on November 21. Grab a heissi schoggi (hot chocolate) and explore the galleries on Rämistrasse, check out the Conelli Christmas Circus, or listen to a holiday concert in the Romanesque-style Grossmünster church. Enjoy a relaxed and Christmassy shopping spree, winter delights and moments of magic visiting our Christmas market in Zurich

Venice, Italy

Christmas in Venice is cold, uncrowded and magical! With Venice’s already-gorgeous canals, piazzas and ornate architecture lit up with Christmas decorations, the streets less crowded than in the height of the tourist season, and locals doing their Christmas shopping, the holidays make for a fantastic time to visit. Christmas in Venice offers the ideal chance to set up beautiful Christmas markets that enliven some of the most beloved venues in Venice

Dublin, Ireland

With a cracking sense of humor, the staunchly Catholic Irish have a few novel ways to honor Christmas. The most eyebrow-raising is a morning swim on the 25th at the Forty-Foot sea-water pool. In the lead-up to the big day there’s life aplenty on Dublin’s streets and the craic flows. There’s the 12 Days of Christmas Market at the Docklands, cheesy pantos, Christmas lights, ice skating, and markets and seasonal cheer in Temple Bar. Don’t miss carols at St Patrick’s Cathedral.

Kobe, Japan

In Asia, it can be hard to get a true taste of holiday cheer. However, there is a city in Japan that will satisfy your Christmas light craving. Every year, Kobe hosts a breathtaking event called the Kobe Luminarie. This fabulous light festival symbolises hope for citizens. It’s the most spectacular light show in Japan.
